Mission Opportunities

Many Different Ways to Serve

Serving God through missions is one of the most rewarding ways to live as a Jesus-follower. Ask us for testimony and stories of how we have seen God move again and again in our city amongst the ministries we support – or if you want to join in with us!

Ignite 6:8 Missionary Opportunities

We have lots of opportunities for you to come and be a part of our team!

Current vacancies include:

Community Liaison – works with our network of local community ministries, getting ywammers and churches involved in their work as well as supporting the ministries in their work.
Communications and Media Advocacy – works to raise awareness through our online presence and local networks concerning different justice and compassion issues and manages our regular communication channels
Prayer Initiative Coordinator – coordinates our prayer initiatives (prayer walks, justice prayer, mobile prayer rooms) and works with churches to expand our reach
Community Outreach Coordinator – coordinates with different ywam bases for community outreach in Tauranga (both bases in Tauranga and those visiting on the Outreach phase of their schools)
DTS School Leader – leads all aspects of the DTS
Alternative Education Coordinator – design and lead an alternative education program for vulnerable youth here in our city. We need someone to pioneer the program

We all know that unless the Lord builds the house, we will labour in vain. How precious it is to join with Him in His labours!

If you know you would like to support us in prayer, then first of all – Thank You! We are so blessed that you would want to do this for us.

In order for you to be resourced, please make sure you contact us to be added to any updates or newsletter lists we have. You can do so by clicking the envelope at the bottom left of your screen.

Further, we have regular Prayer Nights where you can join us along with others like yourselves to bear up our missionaries and ministries in intercession and prayer walking. Visit our Homepage and click on the Prayer box to find out more.

Advocates

Want to get involved, but can’t be with us full-time? No problem!

We have a team of advocates who are each involved in different ways depending on their skills, interests and availability.

Whether it’s helping with our events, managing our social media, advocacy, bookkeeping, or coordinating with one of our partners – there will be something for you. We welcome enquiries for any availability – be it an hour a month or 10 hours a week – each contribution is vital to our ministry.

Welcome to your first step into a new way of life...

Becoming a missionary is one of the most thrilling rides you will ever take. Giving everything to the Lord – your future, your support and your very self – will mean that you will soon have a collection of testimonies to share with others. We look forward to meeting you!

The Staff Application Form covers questions from “what country you’re a citizen of” to “why you want to be on staff with us”, but it should feel fairly straight forward. It’s only 6 pages long and should take you around 30 to 45 minutes to complete. Once you get started you’ll feel like it takes no time to complete!

Before you get started you will probably want to make sure you have the details of where and when you did your DTS and some idea of how to answer the questions about why you want to join us and what you feel you will bring to the team.

Here at Ignite 6:8 we want to know all about you, so as part of the application process we require two reference forms: one from a mature Christian friend and the other from a Christian Leader (your DTS leader would be ideal).

We’ve made it a snap to collect these – simply enter your details below, then the details of your two referees. When you’re finished you’ll simply click “Submit Reference Form” and we’ll email the reference forms directly to both individuals for you.

If there are any problems with your references, we will get back to you.
